Quick answer
Is the BOB Gear Revolution Flex 3.0 worth it?
The bottom line
Sharing the push with an adjustable handle and room for a growing child
The handle has nine positions, which helps when a tall parent and a short parent share the stroller. It folds with two hands, so you'll want your baby buckled in the car first.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Who it's for
- At 28.5 lb, it's 3.8 lb lighter than the BOB Alterrain Pro (32.3 lb). The Alterrain Pro adds a hand brake and a one-hand fold.
- Great if you want one jogger for years. It takes an infant car seat from birth for walks, with an adapter. Its weight limit ties the Alterrain Pro for the highest of our joggers.
- Air tires and suspension give a smooth ride on trails.
Who should skip it
- Not for jogging with a young baby. Early on, it's for walks only.
- Skip it if you want a quick one-hand fold. It takes two hands.
The numbers that matter
You'll feel this lift after a long park walk.
Your bigger child can still ride with you.
Snacks and spare clothes share the space below.
Raise the handle when the taller parent takes over.
Take the path with the bumps
The Revolution Flex has big air-filled tires and mountain-bike-style suspension. Grass, gravel and cracked sidewalks are part of its job. You don't have to plan every walk around the smoothest strip of pavement.
The front wheel swivels for turns and locks for running. The handle has nine positions, so a tall parent and a short parent can share the push. Change the setting when you swap. There's no prize for walking home hunched over.
The seat reclines close to flat with one hand. When your child gets sleepy, you can change the angle.
First you walk. The runs come later.
From birth, you can use an infant car seat for walks. Each car seat that fits needs an adapter. Sort out the match for your seat before the first trip, so you're not left with parts that don't fit together.
The stroller seat starts at 8 weeks for walking only. Jogging and off-road trips start at 8 months. Those are different starts, even though the same big wheels are there from the beginning.
A bigger kid can still ask for a ride
The seat holds a child up to 75 lb. That's useful when your kid can walk but doesn't want to cover the whole route. You can still head for a longer path with a place for tired legs.
The basket holds 10 lb. That space is for the bag and snacks, even when a bigger child rides above it. The foot-pedal parking brake is there for the stops along the way.
You'll want both hands for this bit
The fold takes two hands. Squeeze both handlebar levers, turn the handle forward onto the seat, then secure it with the wrist-strap buckle. Buckle your baby into the car first so your hands are free.
The stroller weighs 28.5 lb. It's a solid lift after a long walk. You can remove the wheels for a smaller folded shape, but then those wheels need a spot too.
What parents say
One parent says the Revolution Flex is so smooth and easy to steer, they could steer it with one finger. It rolls smoothly over grass and bumps. It's lighter than they expected, so they can fold it and lift it in and out of the car on their own. Source (opens in a new tab)
