UPPAbaby Vista V2 vs V3: What Changed?
The V3 is the same size as the V2 and takes the same second seats. Both take the same 26 car seats with an adapter. The UPPAbaby Aria and Mesa click right on. The big change is in the box: the V2 came with a bassinet, and the V3 doesn't.

Bottom line
The bottom line
Same frame size, same basket. The V3 adds a new seat, buckle and tires. Buying used? Pick a V2 that still has its bassinet.
What actually changed in the V3?
The frame barely changed. The updates are in the seat, the buckle and the wheels. UPPAbaby introduced the V3 in October 2024.
- The seat. The V3 has a mesh seat with a liner that comes out. Take the liner out on hot days and put it back when it gets cold.
- The buckle. The V3 has a magnetic buckle. It snaps shut fast, which helps with a wriggly toddler. Both versions use a 5-point harness you don't have to rethread as your child grows.
- The tires and springs. The V3 has lighter foam-filled tires that never go flat. Its FlexRide suspension has a new spring. The V2 has all-wheel suspension too.
- Reflectors. The V3 has reflective trim on the wheels and basket. That helps on early-morning and evening walks.
- Low-emission materials. The V3 is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low chemical emissions.
- The box. The V2 came with a bassinet. The V3 doesn't, so newborn walks need a bassinet, an Infant SnugSeat or an infant car seat bought on the side.
- The warranty. A new V3 comes with a 3-year warranty. The V2 had 2 years, plus 1 more if you registered it within 3 months with a receipt from an approved store.
Weight moved a little. The V3 is 27.6 lb with the seat, and the V2 is 27 lb. The V3 frame is a bit lighter (19.8 vs 20 lb), but its seat is heavier (7.8 vs 7 lb).
The fold changed a little too. Folded with the seat on, the V3 is 16.3 in deep, and the V2 is 17.3 in. With the seat off, it's 11.3 in against 13 in. That's a bit more room in a tight trunk.
What stayed the same?
Most of what you'll notice day to day is the same.
- Both are 25.7 in wide and 39.5 in tall. Measure your front door once, and it works for both.
- Both baskets hold 30 lb.
- Both toddler seats work from 3 months, up to 50 lb and 40 in tall.
- Both seats face you or face out.
- Both fold in one step, with or without the seat, and stand up on their own when folded.
- Both can carry up to 3 kids with a RumbleSeat and a PiggyBack ride-on board.
Which works from birth?
Both work from birth with a bassinet. The bassinet is for babies up to 20 lb, or until your baby can push up on hands and knees. Stop at whichever comes first.
With a V2, the bassinet was in the box. If you're buying used, ask the seller if it's included. It's the piece that makes the V2 a good deal.
With a V3, plan on one of these for the first 3 months:
- The Bassinet V3, sold on its own or in a bundle.
- The Infant SnugSeat, which goes in the toddler seat.
- An infant car seat on the frame.
The newer Bassinet V3 also fits the V2. It works on every Vista from 2015 on. It has zip-open air panels and a foam-free mesh mattress. The V2 bassinet has a perforated mattress pad and a vented base.
Which car seats fit?
Both take the same 26 car seats with an adapter. The UPPAbaby Aria and Mesa click right on.
Other seats need UPPAbaby's car seat adapter. The same adapter fits the V2 and the V3. It works with Maxi-Cosi Mico seats, Nuna PIPA seats, Cybex Aton seats, Clek Liing and Liingo, and Joie Mint. Chicco seats use a separate Chicco adapter on both. It fits the KeyFit 30, KeyFit 30 Zip, KeyFit 30 Zip Air, KeyFit 35, Fit2, Fit2 LE and Fit2 Air.
Already have a car seat? Look it up in our car seat checker before you buy the stroller.
Can you add a second seat?
Yes, on both. That's the whole reason to pick a Vista over a single like the Cruz.
The RumbleSeat V3 fits the V2 and the V3. It comes with the adapters for the lower spot. It holds a child from 3 months up to 40 lb or 36 in tall.
For twins, both frames can take two bassinets or two Mesa car seats, one up top and one below. The V3 adds the Aria for twins too. You'll need UPPAbaby's upper or lower adapters for that setup.
The PiggyBack is a ride-on board for a bigger kid. Add it to a double, and you can push three.
Is a used V2 still a good buy?
Yes, if it's complete and it checks out. A used V2 has the same size, basket and second-seat options as a new V3. It takes the same car seats, too. You'll miss the magnetic buckle, the mesh seat, the newer tires and the reflectors.
You'll also miss the warranty. The V2 warranty covers only the first buyer, with the store receipt. A secondhand V2 has no warranty.
Here's what to check before you hand over cash:
- Look up recalls. Search the model on cpsc.gov/Recalls. We checked CPSC's list on Oct 26, 2026. No recall names the Vista V2.
- Check any RumbleSeat that comes with it. RumbleSeat adapters made from September 2014 to July 2019 were recalled. Adapters with a yellow tab are fine. No yellow tab? Don't use them, and get free replacements from UPPAbaby.
- Find the model number. The V2 is model 0320-VIS-US. Then register the stroller with UPPAbaby, so you'll hear about any future recall.
- Count the parts. Look for the toddler seat, the bumper bar and the bassinet if the listing includes one. The bumper bar needs to be on whenever your child rides.
- Fold it and push it. It should fold in one step and stand up. Open it and make sure it locks. Then set the brake and make sure it holds.
- Get the manual. It has the limits for the seat, bassinet and basket. Our sources list below links to a saved copy.
Other strollers to consider
- Only ever need one seat? The UPPAbaby Cruz V3 is 22.5 in wide and 26.5 lb. See Cruz vs Vista.
- Want a bigger basket? The Nuna MIXX Next holds 33 lb and is 23.6 in wide. It doesn't turn into a double. See MIXX Next vs Vista V3.
- Want another single-to-double? The Mockingbird Single-to-Double 3.0 also adds a second seat. Its basket holds 25 lb.
Still deciding if a Vista is the right type? Start with single-to-double strollers or full-size strollers. The Vista V3 page has every spec and the full car seat list.

Questions parents ask
Is the Vista V3 worth it over the V2?
If you're buying new, yes. You get the mesh seat, the magnetic buckle, the newer tires and a 3-year warranty. If a used V2 comes with its bassinet and costs a lot less, it does the same job. The frame and basket are the same, and so are the car seats they fit.
Does the Vista V3 come with a bassinet?
No. The V3 box has the stroller, the toddler seat, a seat liner, a bug shield, a rain shield and a storage bag. The bassinet is extra, or part of a bundle. The V2 box came with the bassinet.
How can I tell a Vista V2 from a V3?
Look at the buckle and the wheels. The V3 has a magnetic buckle and reflective trim on the wheels and basket. The V2 model number is 0320-VIS-US. V3 product numbers start with 0303.
Is the Vista V2 discontinued?
Yes. UPPAbaby's old Vista V2 page now sends you to the Vista V3. So any V2 you find now is used or old store stock.
Do my V2 add-ons fit the V3?
Many do. The RumbleSeat V2+ and RumbleSeat V3 fit both. So do the Mesa and Aria infant car seats. The same goes for UPPAbaby's two car seat adapters. One is for Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, Cybex, Clek and Joie Mint seats. The other is for Chicco KeyFit 30, KeyFit 35 and Fit2 seats.
