UPPAbaby Cruz V3 vs Vista V3: Do You Need the Bigger One?

Cruz vs Vista comes down to one question: will a second child ride? The Vista grows into a double. The Cruz stays a single, so it's narrower, a little lighter and its seat works from birth.

Bottom line

The bottom line

For one child, the Cruz V3 does the same daily job in a smaller frame. The Vista V3 earns its extra 3.2 in of width once a second rider comes along.

Cruz vs Vista: which one do you need?

Pick the Cruz if you're planning on one child for now. Pick the Vista if you plan on a second baby while your first still rides.

The Cruz V3 is 22.5 in wide and weighs 26.5 lb. The Vista V3 is 25.7 in wide and weighs 27.6 lb. That 3.2 in matters in narrow shop aisles and old doorways. It carries over to the fold too: the Cruz folds to 22.5 in wide, which helps on a narrow trunk floor.

The Cruz seat works from birth, and it comes with an infant insert. The Vista toddler seat starts at 3 months. Until then, Vista parents use a bassinet, the Infant SnugSeat or a car seat.

The Vista grows. Add a RumbleSeat, a second bassinet or a second car seat, and it's a double. Add the PiggyBack board too, and it carries three. The Cruz carries two at most: one in the seat and one on the PiggyBack.

Both roll on never-flat tires with UPPAbaby's FlexRide suspension, and both have a front wheel lock for rough paths. The Cruz uses a dual-spring version.

Both baskets hold 30 lb. Both take the same 28 car seats: UPPAbaby's Mesa and Aria with no adapter, and 26 more with UPPAbaby's adapters. Both fold in one step and stand once folded. The Cruz fold uses two-action triggers.
