Quick answer
Is the UPPAbaby Vista V3 worth it?
You can add a second seat later, and the seat can face you. The basket holds up to 30 lb for long walks with lots of stuff. For a newborn, you'll need the Infant SnugSeat or Bassinet. The seat alone starts at 3 months.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Who it's for
- Great if you want a full-size stroller now and room for a second kid later.
- Works from birth with the bassinet or infant seat.
- Good if you shop on foot. The basket holds a lot.
Who should skip it
- Not for you if you're on a tight budget.
- Skip it if you want most car seats to click right in. Many need an adapter.
The numbers that matter
You'll lift this weight every time you load it into the trunk.
Your toddler can ride when they need a break from walking.
You can carry a packed diaper bag and groceries in the basket.
2 click straight in. The other 26 need an adapter.
A basket that turns a walk into an errand
The basket
The basket holds 30 lb. That's the diaper bag, a jacket nobody wanted to wear, and dinner from the store, all riding under the seat instead of hanging off your shoulder. If you walk to most of your errands, this is the part you'll love.
The push
Never-flat tires mean no pump in the hall closet. FlexRide suspension soaks up cracked sidewalks and curb cuts. The handle and the recline both adjust with one hand, which is handy when your partner takes over the push or the baby conks out halfway to the park.
The seat also turns around. Face your baby toward you for the chatty months, then flip it when the street gets more interesting than your face. It happens. Try not to take it personally.
Newborn days need one extra piece
The toddler seat's starting point goes by age, not weight. Your baby can ride in it from 3 months, or from birth with the Infant SnugSeat added. Before 3 months, your baby rides in the Infant SnugSeat or the Bassinet. So plan on one of those for the first few months of walks.
If you'd rather go car seat to stroller, 28 infant car seats fit. 2 click straight in, and the other 26 need an adapter. Either way works. It just changes what lives in your trunk.
When baby number two shows up
This is the big reason to pick a Vista. It starts as a single and turns into a double when you add a second seat. You don't have to sell it and start over when your family grows.
One thing doesn't grow: the basket. It's still 30 lb, now shared by two kids' worth of snacks, wipes and spare clothes. With two little ones, you'll get choosy about what comes along.
The trunk lift after a lovely walk
The fold is one step, with or without the seat on, and it stands up on its own when it's folded. That gives it somewhere to wait while you buckle the baby in.
You can take the seat off for a smaller fold. That helps in a tight trunk, but now you've got two pieces to load instead of one.
At 27.6 lb, it's a real lift. On a day with three car stops, you'll lift it three times. If you drive to almost everything, think about that before you fall for the smooth push.
Questions parents ask
How many kids can the Vista V3 carry?
Up to 3. One rides in the toddler seat. A second rides below in a RumbleSeat, a bassinet or an infant car seat. A big kid can stand on the PiggyBack board. The extra seats and the board are sold separately.
Does the Vista V3 come with a bassinet?
No. The box has the stroller, the toddler seat, a seat liner, a bug shield, a rain shield and a storage bag. The bassinet is extra, or part of a bundle. The older Vista V2 came with one.
Can a newborn ride in the Vista V3?
Yes, with one extra piece. Use the Bassinet, the Infant SnugSeat or an infant car seat until your baby is 3 months old. After that, the toddler seat works up to 50 lb and 40 in tall.
Which car seats fit the Vista V3?
28 infant car seats are on the list. UPPAbaby's Mesa and Aria click straight in. The other 26 need an UPPAbaby adapter. Those include Chicco, Maxi-Cosi, Nuna, Cybex, Clek and Joie seats. Find yours in the list below.
How is the V3 different from the Vista V2?
Same width and same 30 lb basket. Both take the same 26 car seats with an adapter. The UPPAbaby Aria and Mesa click right on. The V3 adds a mesh seat, a magnetic buckle, new tires and reflective trim. The V2 came with a bassinet in the box. Our Vista V2 vs V3 comparison has the full list.
