Quick answer
Is the Joolz Aer+ worth it?
The bottom line
Flights with a quick fold; newborn walks need the separate Aer+ cot
It's sized for the overhead bin, though each airline has its own rules. Parents love it for travel and everyday use. The seat starts at 6 months. For a newborn, you'll need the separate Aer+ cot.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Who it's for
- Great if you fly a lot and want a stroller that fits in the overhead bin.
- Folds in a second with one hand, so it's easy on buses and stairs.
Who should skip it
- Not for a newborn unless you buy the cot. The seat starts at 6 months.
- Skip it if you need room for a big grocery run.
The numbers that matter
Check that the folded stroller fits beside your luggage.
Your child can ride during long airport walks.
You can put your bag in the basket instead of carrying it.
Have the adapter ready for the car-to-stroller move.
The boarding line is moving again
You've got a child who wants carrying, a bag slipping off your shoulder and people waiting behind you. This is where the Aer+ makes sense. It folds with one hand in a second. You can close the stroller without needing both hands free. That quick fold helps at the taxi after landing, too.
The folded shape is slim and fits an overhead compartment. That gives you a small package to deal with among the coats and carry-ons. It still has to follow your airline's luggage rules, so the flight matters as well as the fold.
It can come to the park, too
A travel stroller still has a job when you're home. The Aer+ has suspension on all wheels to help with bumps, plus a front swivel lock. The seat reclines when your child stops pointing at things and starts getting sleepy.
The basket holds 11 lb. Your wipes, spare clothes and snacks can ride below. That's useful on the walk to the park just as much as the long walk through an airport.
The seat takes a child up to 50 lb. There's room in that limit for the bigger kid who insists on walking, then changes their mind halfway home.
For a newborn, add the cot
The seat starts at 6 months. For walks from birth, you'll need the Joolz Aer+ cot, sold separately. If you're shopping before your baby arrives, count that extra piece into your plans. The little folded stroller isn't the whole newborn setup.
The seat is for children from six months to four years, within its weight limit. So the cot handles the first stretch, and the seat comes later. That matters if your first trip is coming before your baby is ready for the seat.
Three infant car seats fit with the Joolz adapter: the Nuna PIPA, the Maxi-Cosi Pebble and the Cybex Cloud Q. Check the exact seat and adapter together before planning your car trips. The cot is for those early walks; the infant car seat handles the move from car to stroller.
What parents say
One parent loves it so much they decided they didn't need a full-size stroller at all. They always gate-check it and get it back as soon as they get off the plane. Source (opens in a new tab)
