Short answer
For smooth shops and pavement, small wheels can be worth the easier fold. For broken sidewalks, grass or gravel you cross often, try larger wheels and suspension, then weigh that smoother push against the size you will have to store.
Match the wheels to your worst daily stretch
Small wheels are a fair trade for a compact fold when your route is mostly smooth pavement and shops. Bigger wheels deserve a trial if every walk includes cracked slabs, grass or gravel. Choose for the rough stretch you cannot avoid, rather than a trail you only plan to visit once.
The Joolz Aer+ has 5.1 in front and 5.9 in rear wheels with four-wheel suspension. The Bugaboo Fox 5 Renew has 8.5 in front and 12 in rear puncture-proof wheels with full suspension. That gives you two very different setups to push over the same join in the pavement.

Air-filled or puncture-proof?
If you want tires that avoid flats, compare the puncture-proof and never-flat choices. The Cruz V3 has never-flat tires and dual-spring suspension; the Fox 5 Renew uses puncture-proof wheels.
The BOB Revolution Flex 3.0 has air-filled 12 in front and 16 in rear tires with mountain-bike-style suspension. The Thule Urban Glide 3 also has 16 in air-filled tires. Try these against a walking stroller if rough paths form a big part of your week.
Wheel size is one part of the feel. Seat load, steering and the frame matter too, so do not turn a tire measurement into a promise that one model rides better everywhere.
Small wheels suit smooth paths. Bigger wheels roll better on gravel and grass.
What parents notice off the shop floor
One parent with a Revolution Flex found it smooth across grass and bumpy ground and easy to steer. Big air-filled tires like those are what make grass and broken pavement feel smooth. (What to Expect)
Another parent has used a Thule Urban Glide for two kids and says the shocks are incredible, so rough ground feels like nothing. (What to Expect)
Remember where the wheels go after the walk
The Revolution Flex 3.0 weighs 28.5 lb. With wheels on, its fold measures 38 L × 25 W × 16 H in. Removing the wheels reduces that to 35 L × 20 W × 10 H in, but adds a step to loading and unloading.
The Fox 5 Renew has a one-piece fold with the seat or bassinet attached, plus a smaller two-piece option. Decide how much taking apart you will tolerate on an ordinary car trip. A stroller can earn its space on a long walk and still be too much for quick errands.
What I'd choose for daily walking
For a smooth route with stairs at home, I'd start small. For a rough route from the front door, I'd compare a large-wheel walking stroller with a jogger before deciding. Push with a realistic load and include a tight turn in the test.
Start with full-size strollers for walking and joggers for a running plan. Jogging vs regular strollers helps weigh the ride against the fold and daily chores.
Questions parents ask
Do I need air-filled tires for walks?
No. The Fox 5 Renew has puncture-proof wheels and full suspension, while BOB joggers use air-filled tires. Compare the push on the surface you use most.
Does all-terrain mean I can run with it?
Choose a running model for runs and follow its running rules. A wheel or tire label alone does not approve a stroller for jogging.
